Zimbabwe Casinos

The prospect of living in Zimbabwe is somewhat of a gamble at the moment, so you may think that there would be very little affinity for patronizing Zimbabwe’s casinos. Actually, it appears to be working the other way, with the atrocious market circumstances leading to a higher ambition to play, to try and find a fast win, a way out of the difficulty.

For nearly all of the citizens living on the meager local wages, there are 2 dominant forms of betting, the national lotto and Zimbet. Just as with most everywhere else on the globe, there is a state lotto where the chances of hitting are surprisingly small, but then the winnings are also very high. It’s been said by financial experts who understand the situation that the majority do not buy a card with an actual belief of profiting. Zimbet is centered on one of the national or the English soccer divisions and involves predicting the outcomes of future games.

Zimbabwe’s gambling halls, on the other shoe, pander to the astonishingly rich of the country and tourists. Up till recently, there was a considerably substantial vacationing industry, based on nature trips and visits to Victoria Falls. The market collapse and associated bloodshed have cut into this market.

Amongst Zimbabwe’s casinos, there are 2 in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has 5 gaming tables and one armed bandits, and the Plumtree gambling den, which has just the slot machine games. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has just slot machines. Mutare has the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, both of which contain gaming tables, slots and video poker machines, and Victoria Falls houses the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, the two of which offer slot machines and table games.

In addition to Zimbabwe’s gambling halls and the above alluded to lottery and Zimbet (which is very like a pools system), there are also 2 horse racing complexes in the country: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the second metropolis) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.

Since the economy has deflated by beyond 40% in recent years and with the associated poverty and bloodshed that has come to pass, it is not known how well the sightseeing industry which is the backbone of Zimbabwe’s gambling dens will do in the in the years to come. How many of them will survive till conditions get better is merely not known.
