Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which casino wagering is prohibited. Eight gambling halls are based in a generally small area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime destination, a 3 to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing capital accrued from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a couple of controls constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; although, funding sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and although visas are for all intents and purposes needed to cross, there are ways around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge gambling hall, contains 150 slot machine games and sixty tables. The Naga river boat is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slot machines and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the familiar tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 casinos in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international vacation and hotel complex that features numerous conveniences in addition to the gambling den, which provides ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and 88 gaming tables.
