Cambodia Casinos

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is banned. Eight gambling dens are situated in a generally tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent location, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular betting locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal income accrued from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a number of restrictions constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; although, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 17:00, and though visas are allegedly necessary to cross, there are means around this, as is correct of most border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge gambling den, contains one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of 150 slot machine games and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machine games and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and 66 of the common gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational vacation and hotel complex that contains many conveniences aside from the gambling den, which houses 10,000 square feet of 130 one armed bandits and eighty eight table games.
